multiple ip address

    was up guys im new to the board i have a question.when i log onto the internet through avant i have zone alarm asking me if i want to allow avant to access the internet twice,one is127.0.0.0 could access the internetthen another one with some other numbers and dns behind it. is this normal im running on
    win98 gateway pentium2 192 mb of ram with 60gb harddrive and 8 gb harddrive

    127.0.0.1 is the Localhost, and no it is not normal to have it attempting to access the Internet. Sounds like you may have some deeper issues that may mean cleaning Malware off of said machine.

    thanx, do u know of any good programs to reccommend to rid malware.

    a brownizs i followed the sticky you link me, and this is what happen. i ran all the programs like said, only problem i had is abou buster didnt wont to load up talking about a runtime error,, evry thing else ran okand didnt find anything. trojan scan is the only program that found somthing and it found adware nlnp!3.exe and cpbrkpie.ocx coupon adware. and thats it i dont know what else to do. do you know anything else i can do. you said one of the thats trying to access the internet is from malware, wich one is the bad ip is local the 127.0.0.1 the bad one or the ip with 68.111.16.30 dns. after i did what the sticky said i ran a malware removal it found nothing. here is a log from my computer Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1

    No you didn't follow directions, if you had you wouldn't have posted you HJT log until it was requested, and then it is to be posted as an attachment, never pasted into your reply. There are no issues in your log that need to be addressed.

    THis si the only line I recommend you have HJT fix:
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = localhost:8080

    ok did it ,and when i log into avant the two internet ips still ask to access the internet. i ran everything like the sticky said in safe mode and found nothin. if one ip is my address what can the other be?

    What type of Lan connections do you have hooked up to your computer (wifi, firewire, USB, Ethernet)??

    If you are getting an ip of 127.0.0.1, that is for Localhost, if you are getting something else on the ethernet, that would be your router.

    What other IPs are you getting??

    ok one is127.0.0.1 and the other 68.111.16.30:dns

    Than that is normal. The 68.111.16.30 is coming from the ISP DHCP server. Sounds like you do not have a router between you and the modem for your broadband.

    nah just a straight connection modem to computer.
