What is the advantage of assigning multiple IP addresses to a Router...
ie... to each an every slot, different IP address is given..:)

Are we talking a commercial grade router here or a home router?

My guess would be that the OP is talking about assigning computers with Static IP vs. Using the DHCP.

In general it better and more convenient to use DHCP. I.e automatic assigned of IPs by the Router.

Mosr newer Router has also the capacity to keep the IP of each computer the same (AKA Static DHCP)

If you have on your Network a Server, a NAS, or a Network Printer, it is better to assign a ststic IP to each one of them.

There isn't any advantage to doing such a task in a home environment unless you have a Network Printer, NAS or Server as mentioned by Cat5E.
