On DSL broadband - wireless download speed is eratic from .80 mbps or lower to 2.0 mbps. ( I used to get 3-4 mbps.) Upload is an expected .70 mbps. Could the problem be that there are 3 wireless adaptors listed in device manager or something else?

    Dell Wireless 1502 card
    Microsoft virtual WiFi miniport adapter
    Realtec PCIe GBE family controller

DSL modem works fine on Ethernet or wireless on other computers.

The "Realtec PCIe GBE family controller" is your Ethernet adapter and is not wireless, also the "Microsoft virtual WiFi miniport adapter" is as the name suggests is a virtual adapter which means it does not have a physical adapter.

I would first check the dell website to make sure your drivers are up to date.

Do you have any problems with the wireless on your LAN or is it limited to only access the internet?

Is the computer having issues further away from the access point than the computers not having any issues? If that is the case you have walls or other interference.

The Dell wireless 1502 is the adapter card I use to connect to the wireless modem. The Wi-Fi signal strength is fine anywhere in the house "good" or better most of the time. It seems to me that the Dell wireless card is the only one that should show up in the device manager. I have checked the speed using the CenturyLink site and the down/upload speed is as stated above. Wireless speed has never been influenced by number of computers accessing the modem or number of applications running. Everything worked fine a few days ago, and at this point I am reluctant to update any more drivers. I updated the video card software recently, but reverting to a restore point before I did this made no difference.

Now task manager networking shows two wireless connections running simultaneously. Not good. One of them shows activity, the other one does not.
