Multiple problems with Xp

I was told to post here by the malware experts. I ran into a problem after I ran SaS (which the scan didn't find anything). When I restarted the computer and logged back on, a lot of programs wouldn't open. When I open My computer it just shows a loading icon. Internet Explorer isn't opening. When I look under task manager I can see iexplore.exe but it wont come up. Everytime I restart the computer I get all these end program messages. LogonSessionTracker, DSAgnt.exe, hpqtra08.exe, Musicmatch Component manager and explorer.exe. Then my computer will just sit at the saving your settings screen and I have to reboot it manually. I was told to create a new user user account, transfer the docs and settings to the new account and deltete the old accounts. When I was deleting one user a message popped up saying something about a file is corrupt. I think it might have been rundll32.exe but im not sure as it only stayed up for a couple seconds. After the account appeared to be deleted, I saw in the start menu under docs and settings that the user wasn't fully deleted. When I tried to delete the folder it said : Cannot delete Default.ldb: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable. Any help would be appriciated.

I looked through your Malware Forum threads, and I concur with TimW: I think the best course of action at this point would be a repair install of XP.
Do you have your original XP disk and/or any recovery disks?
