Multiple windows opening in IE

Whenever I close an window from yahoo news, a bunch of new identical windows/tabs open up. I haven't noticed this with any other websites. I tried the malware forum and they say the system is now clean, perhaps try for a solution here. (windows 7, ie8). Any ideas?

 

I am running Service Pack 1 and I already tried resetting IE. Since I did that, now when I go to Yahoo mail, it gives me the "you are about to view pages over a secured connection" I click ok then it pops up "you are leaving a secure connection". I realize I could hide these messages, but it's a little contradictory. Should I uninstall IE8 and reinstall it?

 

I don't see Internet Explorer in my add/remove programs, but in my start menu programs there are two: Internet Explorer and Internet Explorer 64 bit. Also, quite often when I open a tab/window the page is unavailable, but if I refresh it, it loads.

 

I have updated to IE9, and so far, it seems to be working. Do I have to do something to remove IE8? and is there a way to add the zoom button back to IE9 like I had at the bottom right of IE8? (although it doesn't seem to be such an issue as IE9 print is not so small as IE8 was

 

Don't worry about the zoom tool, I have it. Now to figure out how to move the google toolbar to it's own line.

 

Now I don't seem to be able to update/change the settings for my Yahoo toolbar. I change them, but it doesn't save the changes.

 

I have uninstalled IE9, and for a bit thought 8 was better, but it is still doing it. Any way to fix IE8...reinstall it?
