You should be able to tell Mcaffee that Multiplicity is a trusted server, as that is why it wants to open the port specified. Changing ports will not stop Mcaffee from having problems, as its job is to protect all ports from the Nasties. Not using Mcaffee that is all I can offer, config Mcaffee to live with Multiplicity.

When you state that you can switch up to 6 machines with one machine, are you running on a lan? If so, do you have a router? If so, the router on the firewall may be blocking this.

  4. im certain its mcaffee but i also have a linksys router. any way to unblock the port w/o going through mcaffee directly? i cant seem to get mcaffee to work out with it...

Well, disable McAfee and see if you can get this to work.
Or, check your router to see if it is blocking this port.

  6. i uninstalled mcaffee on both pc's. if it is my router, how would i fix that?
