music downloads (albw)

hi guys,my daughter has got herself an awful lot of albums from winmx which is good, but when she tries to play them on her cd player it only recognises them as single track cds. does anyone know of any software i can get that can convert them for her, i would be grateful for any ideas. thnks. G

 

Is she burning them as music CDs or as data CDs? What software are you using to burn the CDs?

 

we have tried them in both formats and we get the same result, we have nero 6 and easy cd creator 7

 

Do the CDs work in other CD players correctly? Do the CDs play correctly on the CD player in the computer, or just your daughter's CD player (or are those one and the same)? How old is her CD player? When you burn the CDs with Nero, do you tell it to "Finalize"? If not, try checking that. Some CD players, especially older ones, have difficulty reading CDs that are not finalized.

Try using the "Track-at-once" (TAO) writing method, or use the "Disk-at-once" if you're currently using TAO.

 

sorry to step in here Da Chicken, but what i'm wondering is if she downloaded a whole album, did she download the tracks seperatly, or just in one .mp3 file?
maybe it's the .mp3 file that needs to be splitted into different tracks?

 

Did she download these albums as entire albums ( one file ) or are they made up from single files to make the album ?

 

hi. sorry about the delay in answering i have just got in from work, ok then, first off thanks for your interest, now her players are within six months old so i dont think that is the problem and they were all finalized i think that rataplan and "h v" may be on to it as she tells me that they are all downloaded as a complete album and i guess that is why we are having this problem, so i suppose i should be looking for some software to split them

 

hi again, sorted-i found a site-www.daily mp3.com/splitter.html on here are a couple of dozen and more splitters which you can download and try. i tried a few and settled on "cool mp3 splitter" from meda and it is ideal for a novice like me. apparently the thing to do is to break the album down to individual tracks and then put them on a cd as a full album.---message to all dads, this is a good tool but BUY THE DAMN ALBUM!!! ---thanks again people for the interest shown, i am glad i have found this site,see ya.--G.
