    Dear Helpers,

Using XP with Office 2003. After inserting a WAV music file into my Powerpoint slideshow I noticed that the slideshow became way too big. Obviously it must have been the added music. The WAV file itself, I soon saw, was some 6MB in size. I used the Sound Recorder in Accessories to compress the file but it is still too large at 3MB. How do I get it to under 1MB to make my slideshow small enough to send to my email contacts?

Thx so much for your help.....

    Hi

Only so much you can compress a Wav to, could convert to MP3 or use Audacity change it from a stereo track to a mono which would shave some size off.

If any pics in the PPT, could compress those, when Save As, click Tools > Compress pictures and choose Email option, will make the total PPT smaller, so could compensate for larger WAV?!

    Hi there,

Thx for the suggestions. Powerpoint does not accept MP3 format. The slideshow that I have is already compressed to a size of 2MB. Other slideshows that I possess in my collection (from other sources, not ones I have made) show that the music is only about 600KB so there must be a way to reduce the 6MB wav file I have to that level.
