Music Mixing software...

I am trying to create a dance mix and I have all the songs picked out and the mix will be played on my ipod, but here is the catch... I don't want the whole song to play each time, I just want about 2 to 3 minutes of each song so we can keep things moving along. Is there any free software out there that can easily make this mix for me? Or do I have to manually edit each Mp3?

audacity is good, tho i prefer nch wavepad sound editor. it's also free. it's not available for download here on majorgeeks.
