Music Tracks Dilema

I'd like to throw this out to the community that is vastly familair with ripping music tracks. A friend burned 22 tracks of music fm 2 LP albums for me on a cd in a .cda format. MusicMatch indicates that there are only 8 tracks (no song track titles shown). For instance...track 1 = 13.00 time duration which apparently is 6 tracks worth. Track 2 = 12.00 minutes for 5 tracks & so on. I can convert these .cda tracks into MP3 but I can't separate out each track indivdually. The method used isn't the way I would rip song tracks for someone. Does anyone know if there is a way to separate each track out so that all 22 tracks are shown? Or does the ripper have to re-do & burn each track individually?

 

This problem is probably due to the fact that either the ripper program you used sucks, or that the CD is a LIVE CD and meant to play continuously.

In other words, is the LP a recording of an artist live at a stadium? Normally those discs will play continuously, the ripper may have thought this to be one track.

I would try to re-rip the CD using a different program. I personally like to use CDEX or iTunes. You can get it from download.com.

The 2nd option is to download a program from download.com or elsewhere that allows you to manually edit music files, this way you could separate the tracks the way they are supposed to be. Generally a program like this costs money.

krazykrl...Thanks, I'm having the cd ripped again so hopefully the tracks will all be separate. I'm looking at CDEX & iTunes now. Don't know if the tracks are fm a live CD or not. I'll search for something that will allow me to separate & edit tracks in a cd. Many thanks for your help.
