Musicmatch V10 - Install Problem

I use Musicmatch V10 on my desktop and just bought a new laptop. The laptop is on a wireless home network and is working fine with all other applications installed and all web sites I have visited. Running Windows XP.

I'm trying to install Musicmatch v10 (MM) to the laptop but get a screen that says "page cannot be displayed" it then gives instructions for possible fixes, including turn off pop-up blockers, turn-off firewall, disable HTTP in IE, make sure java is enabled in IE, clear IE temp files and finally correct problems with XML Parser. Except for the XML Parser, I've tried all of the suggsets and nothing seems to work. Since this is a brand new machine didn't want to or really know how to deal with the XML Parser.

I can get to the MM Music Library page and I can play songs loaded to the laptop. I also played a song previously downloaded from MM to my desktop which brought up a "Register This PC" screen and I was able to do that. But I cannot get to any of the screens that are web-based MM screens (the Log-In, Music Store, and On Demand screens).

Have unistalled and reinstalled a couple of times with pop-ups on and off and firewall on and off but nothing has correted the problem. Seems to be a related to how MM is working with my web connection and IE setting but can't figure it out.

    Thanks ,
    Stuart

I would disable NAV's adblocking feature and try it.

The laptop is at home and I'm at work. Not sure if Ad Blocking is on in NAV but will try that and see if it works.

Will post again - late tonight - if the problem continues.
    Thanks,
    Stuart

The version of Symantec AV I have at home is the same that is running at work. I looked and do not see anyhting on Ad Blocking and I could not find it in the help menu for the program. Where in Symantec AV should I be looking for this?

Not sure. I think there is an adblocking feature on Norton's, it might be NIS, can't remember.

If you can't find it just disable NAV and try the installation. If it still doesn't work, check your privacy settings, put them on low and enable third-party cookies.

Select Tools | Internet Options... from the main menu.
    Click the Privacy tab.
Click the Advanced button and allow all cookies.

It is a Corporate Edition of Symantec - since I access my company networks from home they provide me the AV SW they want me to use. I will try to disable all AV and reinstall.

I know that I have IE set to allow first party cookies and reject 3rd party cookies (same set up as on my desktop).

Will try each suggestions see if anything works. Will post again - late this evening.

    Thanks,
    Stuart

Just disable NAV. I wouldn't try uninstalling it, might cause all kind of problems. ;)

Here's what I tried last night.

    disabled AV SW
turned off pop-up blocker IE and on Goggle tool bar
turned security in IE down to lowest level
made sure accept cookies was on
made sure java was running OK
deleted cookies and temp internet files using Tools.. Options.. in IE

Restarted MM and still get the same problem.

Here is the text of the message I'm getting.

Musicmatch® is unable to display this screen. Please try one of the following solutions:
Configure any pop-up/ad blocking software as well as software firewalls to permit Musicmatch® Jukebox, and the domain musicmatch.com. Also, be sure that JavaScript and cookies are enabled.
Your Microsoft XML Parser may be damaged. Click here to update your Microsoft XML parser.
Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced and Uncheck the boxes in the HTTP 1.1 Settings section. Clear the Internet Explorer cache by going to Tools > Internet Options > General and click the Delete Files button in the Temporary Internet Files section (be sure to check the box for "Delete all offline content" in the resulting prompt. Close Musicmatch® Jukebox and all Internet Explorer windows and restart Musicmatch® Jukebox.
Update your computer to the latest service packs for your operating system and Internet Explorer.
Click the Library button on the left side of this pane to return to Library Mode.

    Is the laptop fully updated?

Click Start menu, and then click the Run icon.
In the small box that Opens, type the three letters: cmd then click the OK button.
In the command prompt window that just opened (a black background and white text), type the following commands, pressing the ENTER key on your keyboard afterwards:

    regsvr32 msxml3.dll

Now type the word: exit and the window will close.
    Now Reboot and try again.

I believe the laptop is fully up to date. As soon as I got it - last Saturday - I ran the update in IE and it installed a number of up dates.

I will try your suggestion of running regsvr32 msxml3.dll this evening.

So I know what I'm doing (and learn as I go) is this checking for the existence of the dll file or re-registering it in the registry?

Re-registering it, in case you have uninstalled something that unregistered the MSXML 3.0. assembly files.
