Ok , I just bought this, it was referred to me by wyatt, I belive

    Geforce6600 for my PCIe slot

I bought it, on sale for 150$ I was so excited! I get home and low and behold, my computer only has a pCIex1 slot, not x16, I told wyatt I had a dell E310 and he told me that would be the best thing in my price range, and now its a useless $150 brick, please, can anyone help me:mad:

    I know a good arms dealer ;)

But to your problem there isnt a whole lot you can do, either get your money back for the card (if you can that is, it being on sale and all) or do the unthinkable... And get a new mobo

post the card for sale in the selling forums on this site, and try to get your money for it, someone out there may buy it, at least pretty close to what you paid for it, then you can get one that matches your mobo.

I cant find one thats around $150 at best buy, there are none, they better give my money back, it doesnt say on the box you need a x16 slot.

Yeah all you can do now is sell it... Or save up for a new mobo... Didn't you do any research before hand to make sure it fits?

I just had a look on BestBuy and is this the Gcard you ordered? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...cat01151&type=product&cmp=++&id=1124432746174
If it is... Then it does say in the system requirements
So I don't know what to say really... But next time do your research.

It doesnt say it on the box of the Gcard, it says nothing, thats why I bought it

It doesn't need to say it on the box, a PCIX video card is designed for a PCI 16x slot. That's just how it is.

Wyatt didn't see your PC. It's very hard helping people over the internet.

All we can do is go by the information supplied, and give you our free, no frills and no guarantee opinion.

Sorry if it's not what you want, but I'm sure the store would give you a credit, or buy a decent motherboard.

just returned it for full refund, got a Geforce 6200OC for same price, but turns out I dont have an AGP slot either, I figured I wouldnt, but either way I would be going back, so I wanted to see if it would work. haha, any suggestions for a new graphics card, I have 2 PCI slots, and one PCIe slot (1x)

Yes, don't get a PCI video card if you enjoy gaming.

Get a new motherboard with a PCIXpress slot (16x), and a 6600GT would be ideal.

If you don't want a new motherboard, your only options are to leave it the way it is, or try and see if a PCI video card will suit you. (they are nowhere near as powerful as an AGP or PCIXpress card)

You definately have need to open your pc and have a looksy. Also it's too bad that every store doesnt ask....." do you have AGP' ' That brown strip thats offset from the rest"? and if the consumer doesnt know, ask the consumer what he has and look it up for him. this may seem hard to believe, but some stores will do this. Anyhoo, ATI has great cards upper and lower cards that support pci, just an idea...try for some votes:)
