mx4000 AGP 4x problem

    I just bought a new video card: MSI mx4000.
    When I check the properties, it says that AGP is 2x.
    I've checker in my bios and it's 4x.
    I've updated my bios.
    What can be the problem?

    try updating your shipset drivers, and your graphics card drivers
    can you tell us the rest of your system's specs?

    mobo: gigabyte GA-6VXC7-4X-P
    384 meg ram
    win98se
    I have updated my video card driver.

    Somebody told me to update the "VIA" driver ...
