My Book for my birthday

So I got a 1TB My Book by Western Digital for my birthday. I was wondering, since I planned on keeping it connected to my computer, if I could use it as extra memory. I would like to store all of my music files and picture files on it, but have access to it whenever I was to use them (say I open my Zune software and want to play a playlist...)
Basically I want to make it my computers b**ch and act like I stuck a 1TB memory stick into the tower. Is that possible? There isn't a lot of information that came with the external hard drive... just a picture diagram and warranty information in every language.

You dont get to use this as RAM, but you can use it as storage space and is this a My Book World Edition? if so you can if its turned on and connected to your router and its turned on connect to it from anywhere in the world with a internet connection.

Yes great for storing data, pictures and music, I store my music on my internal 1TB HDD as the space is great.

For Zune then you can store all youe music and create playlists from that drive but you wont be able to remotely add, unless you have remote access software on the other device, like GoToMyPC etc

But basically yes you can move all your music, images, docs and downloads to it and free up your main HDD and use this a sa storage drive. I have 2.5TB of space in my main desktop between 5 HDDs one is a 1TB WD drive and share out the files, also use the 1TB drive for backups of the main C: Drive using Acronis True Image but you could use Easeus ToDO for a freebie to clone/image the HDd in case of issues, this way you dont loose all your OS and apps.
