My burner does not work

I crashed my PC and installed windows 98 with a XP upgrade. I installed my EZ CD Creater Platinum 5 , and went and updated it for XP and now it pretends it is burning does a great job pretending but the discs are blank... it is a Atapi CDRW 52 x 24 burner where is my problem? I am a beginner trying to learn my way around a pc with a lot of problems..........................

 

There is couple of updates that are needed for Roxio EZ Creator 5 to run on XP. (Some Kinda conflict without)
Off hand dont remember exactly what were, Can go to Roxio web site to download, If I remember rite , one removes driver or part of driver, something like that, and the other installs ? forgot ( been awhile sinse ran EZ Creator 5)
I have on cd around here somewhere, I look in a bit.
I'm not useing roxio at moment, I prefer Nero.

Also XP has Burner program built in, if use EZ 5 may want to disable XP recording Feature, ( I have left enabled, and ran Nero, Both Worked)
Is possible to have conflict if left enabled while running Roxio or what ever.
In My Computer /CD-RW Drive ( mine is CD-RW Drive (G)) Right click to bring up Properties/ click on recording Tab / when box is checked Cd recording is enabled.

If that dont help remove and reinstall Roxio and updates.
