My CDW/DVD Has stopped working + nolonger show's in my computer

    GiZ a hand with this SoMeOne. PLeaSe? My computer has a 8month old TSST corp CDW/DVD SH-M522C in. I hadn't used the drive for a while, then when i went to it never worked. It had stopped showing in my computer. I have tried to update the driver and scanned for hardware changes. The error in the device manager is ....Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39). Can any HELP WITH THIS PLEASE

    A driver is not needed for CD or DVD drives for many years now. It is possible that the drive is bad, but lets check.

    Check control panel, system, hardware, device manager and remove your CDor DVD drives by right clicking and selecting uninstall on and CD\DVD drives that are displayed, then reboot and see if they are detected.

    If you do not see your CD\DVD drive then we can make sure you have the latest drivers for your PC including motherboard drivers, so try this and let us know make model of your computer or motherboard if the above fails.

    Thank you for replying 2 me. I have uninstalled the CD\DVD drive + then rebooted. I can still not see the cd drive. But it is in the device manager with an exclamation mark. I have done this b4 a while ago but when i did it last time the hardware wizard came on and it tried to search the net but couldn't find nothing, i do not have no disks either. B4 i unistalled this time i noticed another exclamation mark next to something else in device manager it said UNIBRAIN + some numbers but when i look now it has gone .I think the computer is a ACPI Uniprocessor PC + the board is a AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2800+ 2.27 GHz with 1.43 GB of RAM. Hope that's the right info u need to help me cheers Sam

    I just tryed to run that hyperion and got this message ...Sorry, the install wizard can't find the supported hardware in your system. You should check your hardware and try again.

    Just installed the everest program. The motherboard name is a ASRock K7S41 and the motherboard chipset is SiS 741 My step-dad had put this commy together for me for christmas is not a shop bought 1. hope this is the right thing :-S :) Sam

    I am having trouble finding the drivers, which is rare, you need to Google ASRock K7S41 to try and find them, this all assumes the drive is not dead of course :)

    Ive had this problem with the CD drives for a while, but i do have 3 CD drives in my pc. But have only had 2 connected til about a week ago I disconnected the other 1 when i was checking to c if if was a dodgey ide lead and kept the new 1 connected. Both drives went from my computer at the same time i rekkon. Around the time they went from my computer i downloaded registry machanic and am thinking this could b sum think to do with it. .. im confussed on what to do should i reconnect another drive and try stuff with that or ??? i dont what is best to do ... thanx 4 help x :)

    Really LOVE to see you plug that drive into another PC to eliminate it. Registry Mechanic is safe, I highly doubt it had anything to do with it. Might be a conflict, perhaps detach the other CD drives and see if the one that is currently not working suddenly works. Old school testing the hard way :)
