hello all, long time I know. But Igot a question.

I was designing a banner on my athlon2800 compuer , 1 gig ram, 3 hard drive, g force 4 4600ti graphix board when it blinked black, then never came back.

I thought that my video card took a crap so I tested it in my other box and it wouldn't give an image, so then I took my (card that does work from other box) and put it in my main and it still didn't work.

I pulled my excessory cards, all hard drives but bootable drive, and tried to get it to boot to a floppy, with no luck, I'm not even seeing the bios on the monitor and yes I tried 3 differnt monitors and none are seeing anythng, but they all work on my other box. I pulled the battery from the motherboard and waited for the requisite time and replaced it and still no boot.

All the case fans are working, the mother board is powering up, the chip fan is working, the graphix card fan is owrking, all case fans working, I just can't seem to get it up and running.

I have all my homework, and all my business web sites, banners and customer info on them. I'm really SOL!

    any help???

    I'll patiently be waiting.

Peace to all, and I hope to see more of everyone again. I just been so busy with school and designs I get to do.

    Dino-

i would take the HDD out of you busted PC and set it as slave in a working PC then recover your data ... and of course back it up

Is the computer you are having issues with going through POST? You should get a beep as it does this. Is it possible that the motherboard got fried? I know that isn't something you want to see but it is possible. If the MB took a dump it could have taken the vid card with it for the ride.

If you are not getting the POST beep try reseating your RAM.

You said that the orginal video card did not work in another system, and the card from the good machine would not work on the 1st or bad system. Are both cards PCI or AGP? If they are both the same slot you may want to try another card, if possible, that is different.

Let us know about the POST or if any of this works.

The are both agp slots and I only have one on the motherbord. My stats are in my sig at the bottom. yes , working videocard is not working in my computer and my gforce4 4600 is not working in good computer.

I am not getting any thing, beeps either., now that I think of it, htere are no post beeps, but I really cant remember hearing them before either. But there is absoutly no image, not even bios.
have taken out ram one at a time, no change. reseated each individually, no change.

I will attempt to take my harddrives out and place as slaves in wife computer.

    Thanks, everyone.

    anymore advice??

    peace.
