My computer can't find its own files.

Sometimes, when I want to send a couple of attachments with an e-mail, I get a message "Some of the files can't be found. Do you want to send the e-mail anyway".

These can be files I have stored anywhere - on the desktop, in MyDocs, on memory sticks - it doesn't seem to make any difference.

If I rightclick the file and send it it mail recipient it will go, but I have to send them individually, so my adressees get many single e-mails from me.

It only happens when I send more than one file, and they are nearly always Word files, but doesn't happen every time.

Irritatingly, it doesn't tell you which files it HAS found, so you don't know which ones haven't been sent until you check the Sent box.

Anybody got any idea what is happening, and how I can fix it

What email client are you using, and what version? For instance, MS Outlook 2010.

When you browse for a file and attach it it is listed on the Attach line in the new mail window, so at that point it has obviously found it. So what happens when you send, do you then get an error message? What does it say?

The files appear to attach - they appear in the attachments window.
When I press the Send button, I get a message which says "Some of these files can't be found. Do you want to send the e-mail anyway"

Seems illogical to me. I used to think it couldn't find files on a memory stick, but it applies to everywhere, including the desktop.

When I attach files, I select the file by going through the filepath until I find it, then double-click. So I've just described the path it must take to locate the file.

There ought to be a prize from microsoft if you can get a computer to do this.

    Hope you can help.

    Regards
    John
