I have same kind of problem. My computer works well until i want to play some 3d games. Let's say that I play Black & white 2. I just play it and it works perfectly, but suddenly computer screen just shuts down or the screen will get messed up with some kind of lines and colors etc.(sounds like driver problem to me but i don't know how to fix it) or when i play Sims 2, computer just suddenly shuts down. I really want to play something but its just annoying because these happens only during gameplay. (AMD Sempron (TM) +2800 ~2.0GHz, Ati radeon 9600 XT AGP with 128mb memory, RAM 512mb, Win XP pro) And i have pretty old monitor. oh and i tried to clean up the dust (there was a lot of it) but it still shuts down

    Hi

I would just give the cleanup of the inside of the PC another go as maybe some more left and pay particular attention to the fins of the Heat Sink (the large metal block that sits on your CPU and its fan).

Does your Graphic Card have a fan, if so also double check this again for dust.

As its happening in gameplay, its likely to be a heat issue over others.

ok, so I did it, cleaned up whole computer pretty much... but computer still crashes, this time there was those colorful lines on the screen. and after crashing, "North bridge" part was hottest. and problem is that i can't see it from speedfan because Temp3 shows -1C on that so I think that censor is broken. any suggestions? I hope there is.

    Hi

Does your graphic card have a fan? and is it spinning when PC is running?

What are the temps of your CPU, Motherboard and GPU* (*if listed) when the PC has been on for say 30mins?

What case do you have, if it has a name and how many fans do you have and what direction are they blowing the air?

In Event Viewer and the System and Application logs at the time of a crash, is their an error message and if so what is it?

may want to put a thermometer inside to see how how you are running especially near your cpu and graphics card
