My computer is shutting off while playing games like counter strike.

    Acer
    Model - Aspire t180
    Processor - AMD SEMPRON processor 3600+ 2.00GHz
    Ram - 2303 mb
system type- 32- bit operating system

    Windows Vista

I can only play for 1 hour. This never happened before. I played counter strike for 3 years.

    Hi

Is this where your PC just with no warning shuts down or do you get any error messages?

Do you only get this only in gameplay or during normal PC tasks like wordprocessing and sirfing the net?

My first thought is if gameplay that the PC is as gaming in PC intensive task that its getting too hot and that the cooling fans in your PC are full of fluff and dust and will need a clean up, carefully with soft brush and canned air, while swithced off.

So check the fans for dust and let us know if they are dust/fluffy?

Check your PCs temps and Speedfan can do this, do tell us what they are say after 30min gameplay.

    Only when i play games

    Speedfan results..
    GPU 0C
    temp1: 43C
    Temp2: 36C
    temp3: 25C
    Core: 58C

Im not going to open my pc to clean but i took off the dust, but i dont know if it did with a hair dryer :p

Oh yea i forgot when im playing my fan goes very fast and it gets loud none stop

Classic sounds of a choked up heatsink, you really do have to open that case and clean out the dust - a small, soft makeup/paintbrush will loosen the crud, take it outside and gently blow out the dust.

FYI... this was happening to me and it was a faulty surge protector.
I changed it out and never had a problem again. I know right? Sounds
goofy but I'm serious. Thats what fixed me.
