    Hello everybody,

I had Nokia PC Suite installed on my comp. I've uninstalled it. After that i even got their Cleaner program to get rid of residue. However i'm still left with 'Nokia Phone Browser' in My Computer. In other words if i...

    Open 'My Computer'
    The first heading is
'Files stored on this computer'.. then

    'Hard drive disks' then

    Devices with removable storage'

    and then

    'OTHER'

and under this 'Other' heading is the Nokia Phone Browser' It is a folder icon with a blue and green arrow. Basically when you had phone plugged into computer, the files on it could be accessed via 'My Computer' - integrating it in.

How do i get rid of this? As i say i have unitsalled the Nokia proudct and used their clean up program. If i right click on the icon the only option are to expand and open.

Also on a seperate but related issue - i seem to have lots and lots of old Nokia stuff in the registry. If i go to regedit and search Nokia, there is loads of entries... is there any safe rule of thumbs on how maybe i could go about deleting these?

I am using XP - home edition.

    Thank you
    martin

Hmm... just for finality.... i solved the issue by reinstalling the programee and then removing it again... i might have removed some components manually first, and this messed it up... so the best thing to is use the programes own remove option form your programs menu!

hi, i have ccleaner... i looked at the issues... and there seems to be quite a few - most unrelated to the programme referred to above... i'm not sure how to go about this, is there any rules of thumb to use when deciding when to fix registy issues?

CCleaner is real good .... it will scan for issues, you choose fix, and it will ask if you want to back it up ....choose yes, number it (or something to identify if you need to undelete) and let it clean ...have had no problems with it. It should find stuff that is leftovers from unistalled programs, etc.
