Hi everyone, I've just signed up here as I have a problem.

10 Days ago I bought StarCraft II.

The installation was fine and didn't take too long, loading it up had no hiccups, although when I play Multi-player it's where it goes wrong.

Just to explain a bit more about what I did, I simply load the game like normal, a few minutes or so later, I log in.

I search for players to play against, and once it loads everything is fine.

I find myself frantically building and spreading my units, although about 5 minutes into EVERY game I've play my computers switches off.

It doesn't close the program and then Windows starts to shut down, it just switches off.

I then press the power button on the tower and the computer starts up again.

    :cry

The game looks sooo good, I really want to play.

Here are a few details about my comp:

    Windows 7 Home Premium

    AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ 2.21 GHz
    RAM: 1.00GB
    System Type: 32-Bit Operating System

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT

My computer was custom made by a friend of mine, the tower is in great condition, I've opened it up, cleaned it spotless and it's still doing this to me :cry

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi

Is this the only game or application this is happening with?

Does a single standalone game work ok and its only online gaming?
Are you using wifi or ethernet for the internet?

What security applications have you installed?
Disable them to test they are not causing a crash, so disable Antivirus, firewall and antimalware etc.

Have you updated your graphics drivers to latest ones from nVidia?

In Event Viewer do you have any error messages at the exact time of the shutdown (maybe in either System or Application logs) that are related to the game? run the game and follow your steps to make your PC crash as then reboot and check the Event logs, then copy any relevent ones to a Notepad file and attach to a post, instructions to attach are HERE

I would be thinking temp issues in a random shutdown, but if normal gaming works ok in SCII then this doesnt seem more plausable.

Are you 100% absolutely positively sure that this happens only in Starcraft 2? No other games at all?

turn all the graphics settings on low.

I have a gateway FX 6860 gaming laptop.

you'd think it'd be built for gaming...

I can't play sc2 either, unless everything is set to low, otherwise my laptop overheats and just shuts off.
