I have a Gateway T-1631 with Windows Vista. I know there is a place that records all of the system's activity and I am looking into why my computer always shuts down on me. Could someone point me into the direction of where I might find out how to see this? Thanks

Are you refering to Event Viewer maybe? Even if you aren't, it'd still be a good place to check.

click the start button and in the search box type begin to type "event viewer" and at the top of the results(at least, for me) there should be a link to the event viewer.

Alternatively you can access it through Administrative Tools in the control panel.

    Yes that is it. Thanks!
I found the error 'Servicing has required reboot to complete the operation of setting package KB954366(Update) into Install Requested(Install Requested) state.' Does this mean my computer is shutting down due to updates? I can quickly solve that problem if that is the case!
    Thanks again
