:( He was ggeting some lag on WoW so he restarted and windows wouldn't boot, he has tried several times, when i make suggestion he just tell me to shut up and quit bugging him, he has also tried hitting his coputer, no luck. it can't get past the windows failed to boot, open in safe mode? screen. here are his specs

I suspect video card or hdd failure.

    p4 1.6ghz 478
    512mb ddr233 RAM
    nvidia 5200FX
    80gb seagate hdd

Does it start in Last Known Good Configuration?

Does it start in Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Command Prompt?

Do you have System Restore enabled, and do you have an XP CD?

it is working now, when my dad took the sims makin magic out of the cd drive it worked. also the CD/dvd drives had no screws in them, they were loose in the case, so i screwed those in. I wanna emphasize the fact that my dads computer has a 200w psu, i told him that couldbe a problem and he didn't believe me, what do you think? it might be 250W i am not sure, it is labled wierd. it says stuff liek 12v 9A 186w max. after several different voltages/amperages, it is some kind of no-name brand.

    So is it working now?

As far as the power supply, a lot of OEM's have crappy units.

They are usually OK with the system they are supplied with.

They have problems when you start adding things like CD and hard drives etc.

yes, it is working fine now, we have upgraded the video card and replaced a broken cd/rw with a DVD+rw DL and my dad plans to upgrade RAM soon.

edit: I am going to bed, feel free to leave info but i am tired, I will look at this in the morning.
