i have a dell optiplex GX-1.
previously had Linux Unbuntu on it.
then i attempted to switch to damn small linux as the system is older,
i used DBAN to wipe the hard drive, which was a success,
then i tried to install Damn small linux and i managed to click on some german thing, which sent me to a page that resembled that of the bios screen but in alllllll german,
i clicked what i thought was exit,
and ended up partitioning my disk in some german shit.
so now my HD is seperated into 4 equal sections . . . .and thats not even the big problem.
lol
when i turn on the computer, it says
"primary hard disk 0 failed"
"primary hard disk 1 failed"
F1 to retry, F2 to continue.

F1 dosent do anything and F2 takes me to bios.


it would all be cool if i could put in the DBAN disk again,
but lol.
the damn thing isnt reading EITHER of the TWO cd drives.
hahhaahahah
im at my wits end, i have been trying to fix everything i can think of on this
for at least the last 3 months.

i have a floppy drive that works though. lmao

 

I'd reformat the drive and start from scratch. Are you optical (disk) drives enabled in the bios?

 

yeah it shows them as active, but nothing will boot or load from them, which is why i cannot reformat the drive. lol
unless you can guide me to a Floppy disk bootable HD formating program.
