My DVD/CD-RW Drive is not reading disks

I have a DVD/CD-RW drive that has been unable to read disks for quite sometime. When I put a disk in the drive it will simply show an empty folder with no files and most of the time it won't even recognize a disk at all. This problem has occurred after I uninstalled Daemon Tools so I think that might have caused something to happen.

I would try uninstalling the hardware in Device manager then restart the computer. Upon rebooting the computer should reinstall the hardware you uninstalled.
