    Firstly, my apologies if this is in the wrong section of the forum. The only other areas I saw were for troubleshooting help.

    So my current PC finally bit the dust - literally. I've been ridiculously busy having 2 kids under 2 that I totally neglected opening up my PC and dusting it out every month or so. My guess is that it just got wayyyy to hot in there and fried something or other since it won't power up. Could be the power supply. I've had a good 8 - 9 years out of my current PC and its lasted well considering I got it for $850.00.

    This time around I'm looking to building our household's next PC. Based on our budget and what we need to do on it as well as wanting it to be a bit future proof I am planning to go with the following parts / setup. As this is my first build I would appreciate any feedback or thoughts if you could spare any.

    Our use is some video editing and capturing, audio and photo editing as well as game capture. Aside from that its web surfing, youtube, MS office use and email and very basic gaming - like emulator and old school PC gaming (Think Sim City 4 Deluxe).

    I already will be bringing over my existing keyboard and mouse, monitor, 2 regular HDD, an external HDD, 5.1 speaker setup, and Lightscribe optical drive.

    New build components will be:
    * Corsair Carbide Series 100R Mid Tower Case
    * Gigabyte GA - AB350 Gaming Am4 Motherboard
    * Ryzen 5 1600 3.2 / 3.6 Ghz 6 Core CPU
    * Radeon RX580 8GB Armor Video Card
    * EVGA 500B1 80+ Bronze 500W Power Supply
    * Crucial MX 300 525GB M.2 Solid State Drive
    * Kingston Tech Hyper 2x8GB DDR4 - 2666 RAM
    * Windows 10 Home 64bit

    Total cost for this is going to be $1579.XX including taxes (This is Canadian dollars)

    Thanks for any thoughts or feedback!

    Hi

    Wow awesome build and love the Corsair case, I went with latest build of a few weeks back a similar looking case as you in a http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00002734 I do like Intel so didnt go the AMD way but your specs are really good, SSD as main drive really does lift a PC these days and I would never build a PC without one.

    Do you have an other drives for data past the SSD? I know I just have OS on main SSD then save data on a mix of TB HDDs or GB SSDs have around 4TB of space for music, images and personal files on a mix of SSD and HDDs, including the crucial backup images files (use Acronis TI 2017)
