Here we go....this is the situation.

I am currently using Norton Internet security 2003. I put a block on my personal information from going on the net which is my ip address. But, still I find that some websites that I go to; STILL captures my ip address. Is there something wrong with my Nortons or do I need to configure something differently?

Help Needed!!---Does anyone know of a better way of keeping this from happening??? The solution can either be using software or Hardware or both in conjunction with using Nortons. I just need to know what are my options. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.:)

    It's that possible?

I'm positive that no matter what, there is always a way for a site to figure out how to find out your IP address.

Otherwise, it would be dead easy for crackers to crack/hack websites or any place and wont be able to be traced back to at all.

When it says "personal information", I thought it would mean like your computer specs and stuff.

If you're IP address was blocked, you wouldn't be going anywhere on the net.

When you browse to a site, you automatically send a few things to the server, like:
What OS and version you have
What Broswer and version you have
    What IP you're at
    What site you came from

And a few other things. You can't not send that information because the web servers use it to format the returning file correctly. in the case of the IP, it tells the server where to send the HTML file. It would be sending a self-addressed, stamped evelope without addressing it.

As others mentioned, a proxy server stops this information from going out (by sending its own information instead), but they have their own host of other problems.
