Hardmark, that isn't going to work at all for this situation.

Syntex, what you need to do is give your friend your WAN ip address, that is, the IP that is assigned to your router from your ISP. Your router doles out IP addresses to your machines but it has it's own "internet IP address". You need to use that instead.

You also need to port forward any required ports for your games to the IP address of your machine that is being used for this game. Port forwarding is most successful when used without DHCP, i.e. set a hard IP to your machine(s) and forward any required ports to that IP.

if its linksys it should be 192.168.0.1
I agree with you Kodo. But syntex told me he wants to change the IP So suggested that
One more thing, the other computer that you want to communicate with is it also connected to the same router ?
I that case, you can put the router IP into the Default Gateway

Try Getting into the Router Page, Change it from Gateway Mode to Access Point Mode and and the Release and Renew your IP Address in the system and then Check ????

No that didnt work either my IP remains 192.168.15.1

Ok lets say i want my IP to be static, How can i do this the correct way as my internet stops working when i make it static

if you want to do that, then you will need to put the gateway as 192.168.1.1, then make sure DHCP is off or scoped. Scoping eas having DCHP on but starting at say 192.168.1.20. That would give 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.20 as ranges that could be used for static IP. You would set your IP on your PC to one of these. You MAY need to fill in your DNS servers as well but you shouldn't have to. If you do the above and you still can't get to the internet, then you can just use the DNS IP's that your router has been assigned by your ISP.
