My JVM disappaeared....

Well, one day while browising the internet I got a message saying my Java was missing and that I could not view the page. I checked and it indeed was missing. I went to the recommended site that was MS's and they no longer supported the downloading of regular old Java. I went and downloaded Java 2 instead from... well, I forget. Anyways, since I've got this new java I've gotten two runtime errors from programs that work fine on my brother's computer. One is a "windows image C++ runtime error" while playing City of Heroes and another is a runtime error using Yahoo's webpage builder. Basically, my questions are if there are any viruses/trojans/worms going around that delete your Java and is there any place that I can get the older Java back for now? Thank you for your time, I'm sorry if anything was a little unclear.

P.S.- I've taken a basic programming class so I kinda understand what's wrong with my programs, but since the same disc installed CoH on my brother's computer it can't be the program itself that's messed up.

 

What OS do you have?

I'm not sure you'd want the MSJVM back if it's gone, it's more trouble than it's worth. The C++ error doesn't sound related, don't know about the Yahoo one.

What you can do to make sure you have a properly installed JVM is to use the MSJVM removal tool to get rid of any 'leftovers', and then install the Sun JVM from here:
