Does anyone know how to get Yahoo mail to format correctly? I've had a problem of having just about any message I've ever sent on either Yahoo groups as well as Yahoo mail turn into jumbled up garble and I don't know what to do. Also links never work when I send them, they always break if they have any length whatsoever. I know about tinyurl, but I'd rather be able to send a link without it breaking, because I've seen links sent by others work.

I've included screenshots of what I'm having problems with, it's basically when I either copy and paste or write something and then go back and edit it there are always big gaps in the text. The attachments should show what I'm having trouble with. Any help would be very appreciated.

    Thanks a bunch.

PS- You have to magnify the attachment once you click on it to see it properly.

What are your mail options in yahoo set to and what are you using to compose your messages? Are you using Notepad or Wordpad or just yahoo mail to compose?

Check options in yahoo should be Compose messages as color and graphics. Also check to make sure your yahoo mail is the current version - they updated it awhile back.

The first thumbnail was composed in Yahoo groups, and is a Yahoo groups message. The second was copied from a webpage and pasted into Yahoo mail.

I am using Yahoo mail classic, I remember not liking the new mail. Would that really cause the problem? Yahoo groups is the exact same way, so it seems like something at Yahoo rather than new or old mail, but I could be wrong.

I can't believe no one else has this problem! Thanks for your help.

Edit- It's not really jumbled up garble, it's just the spacing issue. You have to magnify the thumbnail to see it correctly. The lines don't flow properly, and the sentences break off where they broke off on the copied page and don't format correctly. The reason this is odd is because Yahoo is the only thing I have this problem with, no other message board, email account, etc. does this with only a few exceptions in certain blogs where copied and pasted text formats incorrectly.

No it's not the classic mail, I use it. I had a few problems when they were changing over/back and was just checking.

I looked in their group managers forum and seems to be a issue with others. Also, gave you bad advice above, for groups it should be plain text setting. There should also be a setting in the Group options for text setting besides your email option from what I see.

Try this and see if looks better, from their forum:

I think I'm also forgetting a setting in IE that effects this too but see if that works for now.

Looks to me like, at least in the second case, formatting is being copied over from the web page. Try copying to Notepad first, then from Notepad to your Yahoo message composition panel. Does that make a difference?

Also, try composing a new message in Notepad and then copy it to Yahoo. How does that work?

I just wrote some random paragraph in Notepad and copied and pasted it to1 Yahoo, the result was more of the same.2

The numbers that are randomly in there are where I arbitrarily ended the3 sentence in Notepad, kind of how this message appears. This is so crazy!4

    Thanks for all the suggestions.5

Edit- See? When I wrote this message, I put numbers at the ends of my sentences, but when it shows up on MajorGeeks, the numbers are mixed in with the message, but it still formats correctly where you can read the message! Aaaaaagh!

Looks to me like a Screen Resolution problem I think for yahoo mail it should be set at 1024x786 or above. What is yours set at.

Wow if that's it that's something else. Mine is set at 800x600.

Yep, just tested going back and forth from 1024x768 to 800x600, and when I copy and paste in 1024x768, it reads normally. When I change back to 800x600, it shows up garbled. Even the same message shows up two different ways when I change the resolution. Good job, sir! At least I know what the deal is now, the problem now is how to do anything about it. Call Yahoo? ;)

Thanks a bunch, and thanks to everyone who replied!
