My laptop keeps freezing! Help!!

I have a HP Pavilion dv6125om Notebook PC, its been through a lot of changes recently. I upgraded it to Windows 7 using my moms acer recovery disks and then I upgraded the hard drive and the ram. I put in a 2GB crucial stick, and a Western Digital 500GB hard drive. Then I downgraded back to Windows XP using the HP recovery disks, but now it keeps freezing.

If any body could help me out it would be greatly appreciated

 

Which version (SP) of XP? Windows or Microsoft Update?

 

i'll give those another try and idk the (SP) how do i find that out

 

Click Start, Control Panel, System (or press Windows Logo+BREAK) - your OS version info, service pack #, etc. should be displayed...

 

ok it says i have service pack 3

 

and i just did all the microsoft updates so i guess now all that needs to be done is just wait?

 

Keep note of what programs are running when you experience the freezing - try to eliminate suspects by checking your startup list...

Does the freezing occur while in Safe Mode?

If possible, check your Event Viewer for likely causes...

If I might ask - why did you go from (I'm assuming) XP-W7-XP?

 

I got the windows 7 OS from my mom's acer recovery discs, so it was screwing up my computer
