My laptop shuts down when I Play WOW`

    Hello

    I a trying to figure out why my HP laptop shuts down whenever I play WOW for more than 5 minutes. It only does it during WOW play and I suspect it is temperature related. Can anyone offer any help figuring this out? Thanks in advance.:)

    Possible that its temp related as you've mentioned it only happens in WOW gameplay, which will stretch the PC.

    What are the temps by the way? can use Everest, HWMonitor to check these.

    Not many options sadly to add further cooling to a laptop, but things to try are......

    1. Make sure the laptop is on a flat surface and not bedding, carpet or your lap, as the cooling vents will get blocked.
    2. Make sure all the cooling vents and fans are clear from dust and fluff, if need use caned air or a vaccum on low to suck out any fluff.
    3. If your Graphic Cards control panel menu lists temp and fan speed, does it also allow you to set if present the graphic cards fan to 100%, some Nvidia and Ati cards do allow this.
    4. Could purchase a laptop cooling base something like this Antec one, by no means the only type availabel so research what are listed as good.

    Depending on how comfortable you are with the thought of opening the laptop, you may want to consider replacing all the cooling paste in there with Arctic Silver, or an equivalent. Judging by what you're describing though, I'd say your problem is the graphics chip overheats when you run WoW.

    What are your graphics settings, by the way?
