When I turn my laptop on and it boots up I have a sign in screen where I have to type a password to get into the computer. It shows my screen name and ask for the password. As soon as I type my password it says that the "profile can not be found". Help Me...my entire life is on this computer and yes I am a big dummy and have not backed up in years. SMH.

The only thing I can suggest is to download the Ultimate Boot CD .iso, burn it to a CD using the computer you're on now to post this thread and recover as much as you can of your files from the problem computer to another hard drive or other media.

If you have installation media for the OS and your apps (or if the installers for your apps can be downloaded) you could do a clean install on the computer you can't log in to.

Others may have different ideas for you. :)

What Operating System are you using? XP? Win 7?

Do you get an option to login with a temporary profile?
