My microphone and mic and magicjack having problems

I brought an magicjack phone its works fine and all,well i wanted to talkand listen while playing games. I went out and got an microphone with mic (logitech). I plugged in the cords try to test it with the speech recognition and what i have is puzzling. I can talk with the the magicjack like i making an call,if i hang up the magicjack phone i cant talk anymore.I think the configuments are all mixed up, need someone to help me get them right again. thanks
