my mom has window vista computer software built in all ready

well my mom dvd\cd rom driver is not working right she tryed to burn a cd and it said.no burner is currently available or you don't have the rights to access the burner. and it does not show on the device that it is not there .on this computer she bought it have its own software to burn with and burner so how can i access it . need help in a hurry .

In order to help we will need to know what kind of computer (Dell, HP, etc.) and the model (Presario F750US, Latitude d630 etc), of the computer.
Also does The DVD/CD show up in either the Device Manager (and is there either a "?" or "!" next to it) or in "My Computer"?

Also what software are you using to write the CD?

 

Have you got any cd/dvd burner software on it eg Nero/Roxio etc or have you tried update driver in the device manager setting under dvd rom drive?
