My monitor is stuck in standby

Right this is my first post so i hope someone can help

I was playing battlefield 2 and then it crashed and went straight to desktop. My desktop was in 4 bit mode and low resolution so i went to properties > settings to reconfigure it. Unfortuatly it wouldnt let me modify any of the options. There was another option (a box to tick) so i ticked it and pressed ok. I cant remember what this option said but it was something like "extent/extend to windows". Now since this didnt do anything i restarted my computer but when it loaded and finally got to the login screen the monitor goes into standby and nothing i have done will bring it out of standby.

I have checked my brothers and my mums computer and they dont ahve the option i clicked. So what could this option have been.

Not a clue what it was!lol.Boot in safe mode f8 and restore your comp to just before you clicked the option using system restore.

I think you should reinstall your VGA driver.

 

I fixed it! (well my dad)

Right, when i tried to put it in safe mode or last known working option the keyboard would not respond so i couldnt click on safe mode. My dad through past experiance realised that it might be because i had a usb keyboard. We tried the old keyboard selected the option and BINGO monitor back on

Hope this helps anyone who has similar problems.

Some old computer system do not support USB Keyboard and USB mouse at dos mode. You can see it in bios setup, if it have you can enable it.
