In My Documents I would like to get ride of the "My Music, My Pictures etc." Every time I delete them they return again when I open My Documents. How do you get rid of them?

You don't get rid of them. They are basic windows folders. Actually managing to remove them would require hacking windows and would just cause any app that points to them to crash. In otherwords removing them is a bad idea.

Why do you want to remove them anyways? You can keep the folders themselves empty. Actually having the folder there doesn't actually take up any extra space either. So it's not like there is really a downside.

If you want you could make it so you can't see them by right clicking them, selecting properties and then chicking the box labeled hidden.

Having them set as hidden only makes them a translucent shade (I have "show hidden files and folders") and you can still see them.

If you want to delete sub-folders such as My e-Books, My Pictures and My Music from My Documents folder then go to Start, Run and copy and paste Regsvr32 /u mydocs.dll then O.K.

Then go to the sub-folders you don't want and delete them.

Deleting main or parent folders such as My Documents is a little trickier, and deleting them is not the real problem.

Windows will let you delete them and they won't come back provided a program doesn't require that folder.

If it does, Windows will automatically recreate it.

Depending on how much these folders bother you and how much you want to persevere, you can try to find out which programs require these folders and set them to use another.

Or you can change the folder path. Personally I don't think any of this is worth the bother, but obviously that is up to you.

Your right, its more work than its worth, I just don't like having to "have" them when I don't need or want them. I do a lot of Imag editing and some programs want to put stuff in "My Pictures" which isn't really where I want them to go.

I'm sure I will learn to live with it.

    Thanks
