I have a Logitech cordless optical mouse that is very picky about what surfaces it will work on. It used to work good on just about anything, but not any more. Now, after trying a hundred different surfaces, I have a little hardback book that it works on pretty good. Or, I can usually get it to work on my clothed body somewhere.... but thats it!!

Anybody have any clues or suggestions? :wave

Get a new mouse - or several :p

I've broken two optical mice since playing the arcade at Majorgeeks, and I see your name in there too, so maybe that's part of the problem - overuse?

I find optical mice break the quickest anyway, even when not thrashing them playing games

Plain white paper on top of a hard surface works best for me :)

try cleaning the surface of the optical light with a qtip and some alcohol, might be dusty.
