My pc does not start Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Help! I am using a dell optiplex 330. It is refusing to start. When I press the power button, the light is solid amber. I hear a fan noise, louder than usual. Please help!!!!!

    On the Dell Gx280's we have at work that means the mobo is dead.

    I just tried to boot it again. This time, the power light was green and diagnostic lights 1,3 and 4 were on
    EDIT:Make that 3 and 4

    I dearly hope that is not the case with mine. On the manual, amber means a problem with the power.

    That's where I'm from. It said there is a problem with RAM.
    EDIT:Now it is 1, 3 and 4 and the guide says nothing about that.

    Just did. Now the power light is amber and no diagnostics. It seems to alternate between the two.

    I have only one module. Now i'm getting the amber light. The manual says something about a power problem.

    Reseat your memory. I recently added memory to a Dell and had the lights glowing and the computer refusing to start. It turns out I did not have the memory seated in all the way.
    If you only have one stick of memory, buy a stick and try it instead. Maybe the stick is bad - it happens.
