Running Windows XP and I've noticed recently that my computer turns itself on after I've shut it down.
How can I correct this? Read somewhere about accessing the BIOS . Any info is appreciated.
    Thanks

Depending on the make/model of the PC or motherboard, accessing the BIOS is accomplished by pressing any one of a number of different keys. The most common are: F2, Del, F1, F10, Esc, F12, etc. You'll usually see something on the screen right when you power up that says "Press <F2> for Setup" or "(Del) for CMOS" or something similar. Obviously, you'd press the key shown. However, if all you see is a logo screen, try pressing Tab or Esc; this normally will produce the 'hidden' POST screen and show what key to press for the BIOS setup. Once in the BIOS, you'll go in to the Power Management settings and make sure that "Restart" or "Timed power on" or "Auto power on" are all disabled, or just disable all power management settings and that should do it. You can also check you Windows power settings in the Control Panel; look in the Advanced settings and make sure that the PC is actually set to turn off and not restart or hibernate....
