I have sound blaster audigy. Never had any problems before, but recently, after running the computer for a while I lose the audio. When I go to control panel on sounds and audio devices it says that I have no audio driver installed. However, the system devices show the driver. I have reinstalled it about 6 times already with the same results. I even updated the driver and installed the new one with the same thing happening. Don't know what's causing it.
    Could some one help please?!

    Thanks:confused

Not much info to go on, but try downloading and installing the chipset driver for your motherboard at it's site or your PC's download page at it's manufacturer's site. Then re-install your audio.

Thank you Strother but I don't have a driver for the chipset because it's a store bought HP Pavillion, but I really appreciate your advice.:wave

What is the model number of your HP?

Use Everest to get a report of your system’s hardware, OS, and drivers. Upload the report as an attachment
    Everest: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181
When Everest is done scanning, click "Report" at the top of the Everest window, click next to get to "Report Profile", select "Hardware related pages", click next, select "Plain Text", click "Finish". Then when it is done processing, click "Save To File". Save it where you want to. (I would use Desktop.)
Click "Go Advanced" in the MG reply box, scroll down a little way until you see "Manage Attachments", click it, browse to your file, click "Upload", and close the window. Then submit the post. You may have to also type something in the reply box, like, "Here's my report.", so that it will submit.

Thank you again but I think that I've found the problem. For some reason the audio service was turned off and set to manual. I don't know if a program did this without my permission or what but I turned the services on and set it to automatic and the audio drivers showed up on control panel/sounds and they are working now. I won't know if this will happen again after I reboot but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.:hyper:hyper:hyper:hyper:hyper:hyper:hyper;)
