my sound

ok im a notebook technician i work on fujitsu and toshiba notebooks,
Now im posting this issue cus i never seen this before. My fujitsu N5010 notebook just stoped responding to any form of sound. I Noticed it after
useing "AIM" i tryed to play some music with my winamp and there was no sound so i tryed checking all the normal thangs like drivers, hardware, headphones, and i tryed reinstalling drivers. oh then i took my knoppeix 3.6 live cd rom and booted with it and my sound worked, and i did a full virus scan
useing a few differant programmes like "NAV, Ad-Aware, Hijackthis,", And i got nothing. windows says everything is in order but my ears dont agree. Im hopeing that someone will help me figure this issue. Thank You

p.s. my sound card is "SigmaTel C-major audio"

well i'll be damed, what the heck is wrong with "AIM" i just uninstalled it and my sound works again. Just to be sure i reinstalled "AIM" and sure to my guess it stoped working again. well it looks like im going back to ms messanger. LoL
