    Hey everyone,

    I have a strange issue in my hands. My system will not boot properly, I can hear POST and my drives spinning but no video...until I press my "reset" button and then I get a regular boot. This happens 97% of the time that I boot the system. I never have this problem if I select to "restart" from the shut down menu once I am already in Windows XP. Sometimes, if I shut down the machine and immediately restart it boots fine!! here are the specs and what I've done already;

P4 3.2E (stock HSF for now)
2 Gigs PC3200 RAM - all the same brand
    Silverstone 450 PS
    Radeon 128 MB Vid card
    Kworld Video Capture card
    Using onboard NIC
Audigy Platinum sound card - with front face plate
Plextor DVD burner - Primary IDE slave
Yamaha CD-RW - Secondary IDE slave
WD 80 Gig HD - Primary IDE
Maxtor 120 Gig HD - Secondary IDE

I am only using IDE, no SATA right now and no floppy drive either (disabled in Bios)
NO OVERCLOCKING all setting are on Standard (Hyperthreading enabled)
    Cleared CMOS already
Tried reseating all PCI devices and the AGP card
Tried removing all RAM and leaving just one stick of 512 - no joy
AGP is set as my primary video device (BIOS)
Double and tripled check my case switch connections from the case to the mobo and they are correct.
I also have the latest BIOS 1007 (release not beta)

If anyone else has experienced this and resolved that little nagging issue, please let me know how and if anyone else has any ideas on what to try next... I'm listening :)

Maybe you tangled or reversed polarities on the wires that are on the bottom right of your mobo that control power/reset/sound/hdd led.

I had a similar problem with a K7SV266M Mainboard, but in my case it was becuase of the built in Video....It works but I have no video so it woundn't boot. Maybe that could be a problem, check your mainboard warranty and get another one...

Thanks to both of you, I would have to say that it must be my video card also. The MB manual does mention certain PIN numbers to lookout for with respect to specific ATI card series and mine falls within the flagged range sooooooo although it is a bit of a pain, I can live with this until I pick up a 256 MB card soon :)

    Thanks again!!
