My Weather Report

Beautiful blue sky. Or so I thought. Just got this off my home page for our weather for today:
Temp 99 low 67 humidity 16% (Why, it's downright sticky out there lol -no it's not)
And SMOKE!
Smoke?
I guess the fires are on again, not sure what is left to burn. Will let you know what happens.

 

it got up to 102, today, and we're on the downside slide, it's only 96 at 6:00 pm..........wobbles

75F, 79% humidity, at 9:35pm EDT. Our sunsets have been yellow the last few days, and will continue to be, from the smoke drifting down from the fires in Canada and Alaska.

I heard a woman at the grocery store today complaining about yellow sunsets. I asked her if she realized that people/animals/forests were dying and that's why they were yellow. She said...I swear to gods... 'well, that doesn't affect ME, why should I care?'

I almost hit her.

It was pretty nice here, around 77F here all day. As I write this though it has dropped to 67F. Thats here in Central NY.

 

Ya know you're from Central NY when you have to wear a flannel shirt in the middle of July.

 

As the temperature drops, the humidity rises. 12:05am EDT, 70F, 84% humidity. Supposed to be up near if not over 90F the rest of the week, with humidity in the 80-100% range.

 

I didn't stop to look at the thermometer, but I know it was dang hot. It was hot enough that my hiking partner and I only hiked for a hour today and that was return trip. According to the weather report, it's going to be even hotter tomorrow. Talk about crappy weather.

Going to be about 104 here with 70% humidity. It rained last night, so it's going to be a bit sticky. Like, sticking to the car seat, , having your shoes melt, and stick to the sidewalk,, that sort of thing.

 

There too? I poisoned 2 nests yesterday here. I hate those little buggers. Even if you don't step in it, they wreck your lawn.

 

I forgot about the sunsets, we have had some lingering clouds from a tropical depression from south of the boarder of California, and remember I live in northern Cal. They have been great, with lots of reds, yellows, and of course hot orange. It was great, and wish I had a camera, but was in the community swimming pool with my daughter, and she pointed it out.....wobbles

 

Could it really be true??? 2:15pm, 83F, only 55% humidity??? In Michigan, in JULY????

I'm actually gonna hang some laundry on the line, because it'll dry!

 

Hope you all are safe from the fires we see on TV. It's winter here in OZ. Some places are down below zero Celcius. Canberra (capital of OZ) was minus 6 degrees C, this morning. Here in Cairns, about an hour ago,(5am), it is +12 degrees C (about 55 F, or so).Cold for us. Still haven't printed out a quick conversion chart. Better google it, or I will forget. Bazza

 

Hey bazza, I would say thanks if I knew where this fire that is causing all the smoke in our forecast was! And I don't see any smoke! Not like last October, that was terrifying.

I was just sitting here thinking it was getting hotter.... lol The humidity has gone from 52% where it was when I sat down to 75% where it is now. Temp is now 77F.

Link takes you to Cairns Airport, OZ but you can search anywhere using search criteria.

We are in the middle of winter in the tropics. A cold 12 degrees C, approx 54 degrees F, here this morning. Cold for us here. Bazza

Well, it's 8 a.m. and the sun is out. Feels hot and sticky already. With luck it will cool off early as I have to be somewhere this evening. Just the kind of day I was hoping it wouldn't be.

 

sunny here still, but with rain inbound in something like one hour from now... so it's gonna be yet another extremely wet, depressing day

Dang hot, really muggy and just plain miserable. Cloudy too. The type of day that makes you want to puke.

Today's high is supposed to be only 89, but after spending yesterday in hot, muggy Glendale, I don't care as long as it's not humid! And smokey, still really bad, everything smells like barbecue, eyes run, sinuses hurt. I feel really bad for the folks whose homes are threatened, we at least are out of danger so far. I don't think it can ever be as bad as last October, we had different fires on 3 sides. That was terrifying!
