    jarcher I can't handle a title

I have a file ( not a URL ) in my favorites folder that cannot be removed.

    MyRealPics

I dont know how it got there but every time I try to remove it I get

"Cannot remove file: cannot read from the source file or disc"

I've ran Ad-Aware 6, Spy bot S&D, CWShredder, AVG6, Registry Mechanic,RegScrub, Easy Cleaner, Trend Micro, Avast, McAfee Stinger and I don't know ehat elese to do.

And every time I perform a function, eg. open a program, open a window, start ie, I get a message from the Trend Micro real time scan tha I have a virus that cannot be removed quarentiend or fixed. It says it is here:

    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SQLNIN.dll

Though that file does not exist hidden or otherwise

I have posted other threads some have braught me closer to my desired result
thanks to those who have assisted me

try deleting this from the command prompt. You'll have to CD (Change directory) to the favorites folder and do DEL MYREALPICS to dump the file.

I think the problem is that the filename has a space in it. Try this:

    DEL C:\DOCUME~1\xxxx\FAVORI~1\Myreal~1

and replace the xxxx with your info.

Or to slightly modifiy what Kodo said.

You'll have to CD (Change directory) to the favorites folder and do DEL MYREAL~1 to dump the file.

Even del MYREA* probably would work but be careful there are no other files matching that description or you will delete them all.

    Thank you.
I've noticed when I use search and choose all files and folders option then advancd
I go to change to a specific type of file , e.g. application, movie file etc. my list of options have become considerably shorter. Some types of files wont open because it doesn't know where to look. Choose from list doesn't give me what I should have and look on internet takes me to the same place. and i wouldnt know what to look for anyway.any thoughts?

    CKNOW mean anything to anybody?

Sounds like file associations are messed up. What OS do you have? Could it be that your user settings have been corrupted?
