Mystery Folder.

In the 11 years I have used Windows XP, the Documents and Settings folder has had only 2 visible sub-folders: All Users & Eldon. The 3 hidden folders are Default User, LocalService & NetworkService. Earlier today I noticed a new folder - Administrator. It was created on 17 November 2015.
Where on earth did this folder come from?

PS In User Accounts, there's just Eldon & Guest.

when I have some mysterious happening I look for files or folder created on the same day and sometimes within the same time frame. A search can be narrowed by date and then time. Also add/remove programs can be sorted by date to see any software installed at or close to that day. Maybe a new software needed admin privs.

Mine has been there since March 2009. I purchased the computer in 2003, October.

All I can tell you AtlBo, is that I have a folder marked Administrator BUT when I see the login screen, I see two users: The Geek and White Nite. I do not see the hidden administrator account.
So I don't know how the Administrator folder fits in with the invisible Administrator log in.

The Geek was my account all the years using XP. When support for XP ended, I created a new account White Nite. After I had done this and logged in as White Nite, I changed The Geek to a limited user account. I wanted my old account to not have much power for the few times I take XP on the internet.

That was the first thing I did. Nothing installed that day.
Mine has been there for 1 month - for 10 years & 11 months it was not there.
I have hidden folders & files showing, and this is not a hidden folder.

I feel that it must be a strange account thing, like a program that messed with your accounts.

You mentioned you tried NexusImage photo viewer recently. Could something you installed have added the folder? Developers can have some quirky things in their programs. In this case, though, maybe a developer left some code written for 7 in the installer for his XP version. All of this is a total guess...

I assume there isn't anything in the folder?

Wonder what would happen if you delete the folder...o_O

    This what TreeSize shows.

The next time I select Windows XP, I'll delete the folder and see what happens.

PS The Last Modified dates are interesting. Most are 3 March 2014 - that's when I last re-installed Windows XP.

Eldon, sorry the dates should be: the folder has been there since March 2009 and I purchased the computer in October 2009! I assume the folder came along when XP was installed on the computer.
