Mystery user

This probably relates to other problems I'm having with trojans and browser hijacks and just about everything going but I won't delve into all that here. You can follow my other adventures in those threads if you want a laugh.

In the process of clearing out some dubious crap, I noticed, in Start>Control Panel>User Accounts, an administrator account other than mine that was password protected. As there was some spyware and trojans that were refusing to budge on impulse I assumed they might be lurking here and deleted the account.

I had just put the system in for repair and a new hard drive had been installed with a fresh install of XP. It was probably the guy at the store that created the account but considering the state of play I decided that deleting it probably wouldn't make things any worse. Is it possible it wasn't put there by the store and could have been a hacked account? If it was the guy at the store why the hell didn't he just use the account he set up for me!!??

Any thoughts on this?

Check the thread 'Where did this porn come from?' I'll be posting next as I am convinced the store has been using my PC to surf for porn or the hard drive they have installed is second hand.

 

I've had spyware created accounts show up in User Accounts, and deleted them with no bad effects. I never had the PC into the store, so it definitely wasn't third party related in my case. Just spyware.

 

Until I talk to the guy I can't be 100% sure but if that can happen with spyware and trojans etc then it probably is what happened here. If it wasn't for the fact the account name was vaguely similar to his company name I'd have no doubts at all. Company name Alltronics Electronic Services, account name ASN.something. Ok I know it's a weak argument!
