Hey, everyone. I've got a strange worm or virus that's been bothering me for a couple of days and I was wondering if anyone could please help me out.

    A number of things happen:

    1) As soon as I start up Internet Explorer, I get at least one pop-up almost everytime I turn on. If I try and close it, IE usually gets stuck.

    2) AIM randomly disconnects, and then doesn't give me any automatic reconnecting messages, and when I try to reconnect "The AIM service can't be reached," when the Internet is working fine Also, if I send one IM to a person, I occasionally receive a pop-up window that says "IM Erorr: Your buddy cannot receive messages as quickly as you are sending them," and again, refuses to send any more messages and gives the same pop-up message.

    3) Without even turning on any programs with the following names, I'm told mflald32.exe and tsm.exe are shutting down. Another program called 'Search Assistant' does this also. One time, I was told "WARNING: The system has detected that a third-party application has removed 180search Assistant , possibly without your consent."

    4) For no reason at all, any site I click to is redirected to http://badurl.grandstreetinteractive.com, which shows that the page does not exist or something of that sort.

    5) When turning on IE, sometimes the busy cursor does not stop flashing back and forth with the normal one, and the page doesn't seem to load properly or on time.

    6) I was notified that there was in an error in MS04-011 LSASS, and then later something was wrong with MS03-043.

    7) Another random occurance: I receive a prompt that says "Network Connections: You (or a program) have requested information from [a constantly changing IP]. Which connection do you want to use?" and it gives me two possible connections to use.

I'm almost sure I've got a worm or something similar, but I don't know how to deal with it. Any help would be gladly appreciated. :)

Im tired so I will give you some quick inputs
I would suggest downloding the following
Hijackthis - (Post the log here)
    CWShredder just run it
    Spy Sweeper
you can get the programs above off this website just use the search engine
After you did all that I suggest running windows in safe mode with networking and running a free online scan from
    www.antivirus.com

other will probablly tell you that your browser has been hijacked so you will need to do allot of things to fix your problem

When u are all done you need to clear out your history/and temporary internet files and cookies and then run all the programs all over again

NO! HijackThis is the last step. Please follow the guidelines in the Sticky threads.
(Below I steal a few lines from AbbySue, I tired of typing. ;) )

First follow this link: < READ ME FIRST: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal >
If you already have any of the programs linked in the tutorial please double check your version to make sure you have the latest one and that you have any/all updates for the programs.

NOTE: In order to resolve the issues you are having it is very important that you at least try to perform all the steps as outlined. If you have any difficulty please post back letting us know what steps you have completed, what you found while doing the scans if anything and details about any problems you have encountered in completing the steps. The more details you can provide the better.

After the above, we will decide if a HijackThis log is required. If so, only post a log if a mod or admin ask you to. And you must then follow the guidelines in this Sticky thread < Hijack This Tutorial And How To Post Your Log File >

    Observe the bold print guidelines.
