NAV2004 slows PC to crawl after install

Hi,

I have just installed NAV2004 and my Pc running XP Home is now crawling. It boots OK but once the desktop appears it may take up to 5 minutes before I can do anything.

I have run Spybot S&D - clear
I have run latest version of Stinger - clear
I have run Symentec Removal Tools for Sasser/Blaster/Welchia etc - clear

I would really appreciate some help on this one.

have you tried uninstalling NAV2004 and seeing if your speed returns. If it does, then you know where the problem lies.

Many of us here have noticed a marked decrease in the quality of symantec NAV products. We often do not recommend them as problems tend to pop up as a result. There are free alternatives for AV's that are quite good; you may want to consider that route should you decide that NAV is too troublesome.
